North Siouxon Creek Backpack Overnight

The troop goes backpacking three or four times a year. Intended for all ages and abilities, these outings provide Scouts an opportunity to develop skills and experience nature in what can become a lifelong activity. For some it will ignite a spark that may lead to a Philmont trek or a Venture outing on the Pacific Crest Trail.

Patrols work together to plan their meals, purchase food and divide up the shared equipment to be carried. Our proximity to Mt. Hood National Forest, the Columbia Gorge and the Oregon coast provide many suitable trails. Favorites include Oneonta Gorge, Badger Lake, Deschutes River Trail and Cape Lookout to Camp Clark.

  • OUTING DATE: See the monthly calendar and watch for the emailed permission slip link.
  • Drivers: Complete the on-line Driver's Information form
  • Scouts: Your patrol is counting on you -- Remember your share of the equipment and food.  Eat a hearty breakfast and bring a sack lunch for the trail.
